Details

I think this may be the best bass for metal. Warmoth Deluxe 5 build with premium parts. Here's what's in there:

Hipshot Ultralite tuners
Takeuchi TK-5 bridge with 17.5mm spacing like a Stingray 5 (string through or top load)
EMG 40P5 neck pickup
EMG 40DC bridge pickup
EMG BTC preamp wired volume / blend / treble+bass stack
Warmoth quilt maple topped body - body wood is ash
Warmoth maple neck with flame maple fretboard - no face dots but has standard side dots.
1 3/4" nut width, 18mm spacing at the bridge.

The backside of the body is a bit rough, with a couple of dings near the lower edge and some damage around the control cavity. The neck has a small crack near one of the mounting screws that was present when I bought the bass a few years back. It was stabilized with superglue and has never been a problem. Neck is good except for one thumb print shaped ding near the first fret.

I have another EMG 40DC if you want to get full-on metal clank, but I prefer the 40P5 in the neck position. The bass balances well and is medium weight, 9lbs 2oz. 34" scale, low B is tight and defined. EDIT: ships in a brand-new Kaces hard case.

Asking $475 shipped in the US. No trades please. Happy to ship internationally if you pay for it.

Neck ding - is that on the front, back, or edge of the neck? Is it somewhere I'll feel it, in other words? "Thumbprint shaped" makes me think "thumbprint sized", which sounds pretty big, though I can't see the dent on my tiny phone screen. Is it very deep? Can you elaborate on this?

Re. the B-string, how's it hold together when you play higher up the neck (up to and past the 12th fret)?

Thanks!

The ding is deep enough to feel, it's on the back of the neck behind first position. Again, if you want pristine this isn't the bass for you :) it's a workhorse.

The low B is tight and clean all the way up, and the EMGs keep it defined.
