Details

For sale only: German made Vampyre Dark Lord in good condition. There are scuffs and scratches and wear on the back of the body and on the cover plate. I moved the strap pin from the back of the upper horn to the horn tip. There are a couple of minor scuffs on the front of the body that didn't show up in the photo. I will try to get some more pics posted soon. Otherwise, there are no issues.

The bass features a French ash top, ovangkol back and neck, wenge fingerboard, 35" scale, 24 frets (I had the neck refretted with banjo frets), 500 mm fingerboard radius, MEC pickups and active electronics, Warwick's fully adjustable bridge. The bass is heavy, around 11 lbs. Comes with Coffin Case!

The Dark Lord came stock tuned down to F#. Having the capability to produce infrasound is great if you are a Sumatran rhinoceros in mating season but I never found much use for it. I currently have the bass strung BEAD. I have also used DR Low Riders for C or D tuning. Will do standard tuning no problem. I may still have the original F# set. If so, they will be included with the bass.

Price: $1500.00 shipped in the continental U.S. I can ship from Washington State.

What does it sound like with the banjo frets? Did ya not like the Bell brass frets?

I had many Dingwalls a while back and I got to where I quite liked the banjo frets so I thought I'd try them out on a Warwick. I could be my imagination but the banjo frets seem a little less "zingy" to me.
