This New Standard Cleveland Hybrid bass has a hugely powerful, deep, warm sound. Under the bow, the arco tone is broad, smooth and massive. Its jazz pizzicato tone is strong, resonant and full of character. Finished and setup by master luthier Arnold Schnitzer, everything about this bass is the highest quality. New Standard basses have an excellent reputation for playability, quality and tone. It is rare to find this good of a value bass available in Taiwan.

This is a hybrid bass, meaning that the top is carved and the ribs and back are laminated. This combination gives an ideal balance of tone and stability. The resonance of the bass is open and huge, and the laminated sides give the bass excellent stability against the extreme humidity and climate of Taiwan. The bass sounds far better than most fully carved instruments. This is the best sounding, most resonant and best feeling bass I’ve played.

This bass was specially made with a removable neck (see photo) that allows it to be safely checked on an airplane in its flight case (see photo) without oversize or overweight charges. You can travel overseas with this bass.

The bass is fitted with two different endpins (see photo).

The straight endpin is made of carbon fiber. The lighter weight of carbon fiber improves the resonance of the bass.
