Here's one of the early Lakland SS Hollowbody basses, with some upgrades. Really cool, fun and quick bass to play!
First off, the refin was done by Marty Bell. I asked for coral pink, but it looks less coral and more pink. Either way, I like it.
Ted Vig did all the work other than the refin. (Ted is my favorite local luthier, formerly of My Music Store in Golden Valley, now owner of Vig Guitars in St. Paul. This was done while he was at My Music Store.)
The work includes:
-bone nut
-upgraded pots, wiring and tone cap
-V/V/T changed to V/T/3 way switch
-7.2lbs ...crazy light!
The bass is in good condition. 8/10 IMO. I photographed the two dings I've found. Otherwise, there is shallow dings here and there. The bass has been played VERY rarely, so there isn't even really swirling on the finish.
The bass does not have a gig bag. I can ship it in one for $20 extra.
