I used to have a bass just like this, in a matte finish. You can get basically any tone you'd want. with the option to switch the humbucker (mine also had single coil?), and the option to blend as much piezo signal in as you want, its very versatile. The mid sweep doesn't hurt either. These are amazing basses!!! GLWTS

Walnut and Ebony... favorite wood combo. These are great, I just played a similar Carvin and LOVED it.

Thanks for all the comments!
It does sound HUGE and offers a bunch of usable tones!

Gonna pass on the G&L, SubNoiseRat369, anything else??

Don't have a scale - but I'd guess close to 10 pounds.
Possibly interested - can you send pics? I'll start a conversation with you!

What's the difference between the bridge pickup on this one and the Stingray 4H? Pickup position? I'd expect them to be very similar.

You can get a pretty close "Stingray tone" with the Carvin - but it's not a Stingray.
I just like the look and feel of a Stingray bass. I've had a TON of basses over the years, from Laklands, Ken Smiths, Steinbergers, Alembics, Carvins, Fenders, and a multitude of other basses - and I keep coming back to Stingray basses.
