Details

The great pedal selloff continues as I scratch together funds to pay for my recently acquired Roscoe bass!

Next up is the MojoHand Colossus. I've had a lot of Muff clones and this one is right there among the top of the heap. They call it a Civil War but to me it's more crisp and clear like a TriMuff. It's a great cross between the two. The addition of the voicing switch and mids control sets it apart and really makes it cut through. Like new condition with velcro on the bottom. This is the latest and greatest version Colossus. Not pictured but included is the original box.

Been wanting to try out new fuzzes but I'm pretty sure you've already tried an MXR BFD right? that's all Id have to trade.

Yeah I had the BFD before so I don't need it again :) But this one would be a good one to try if you want something totally different from the BFD. This is thicker and more creamy/saturated, while the BFD is on the thin/fizzy side. They are just two completely different types of fuzz.

The BFD just gets lost in the high gain guitar work of my band. Where would one be able to buy one of these new? Ive never really found a good site for buying lesser known pedals like this.

You can get them direct from MojoHand. The mids knob is the secret that makes this pedal cut through the mix compared to other Muff type fuzzes!

Prymaxe is also a great place to find a wide variety of stuff.

I've been looking for a good muff clone with a mids knob for a while. How does it play with active basses? Is there any low end loss?

Well this is it for sure :) It has a huge bottom end with zero loss. With the voicing switch it will actually add quite a bit of low end if you want. It plays great with active basses, as that's all I use. I'm very particular about that as well, as my Roscoes and Spectors have huge output.

This pedal sounds HUGE. Mids knob let you punch.. Hard! You have to be careful with the switch, cause the lows can kill. If I had the loose change, this would be mine.
