Due to the "Stuart Spector Design LTD." truss rod cover, dots instead of inlays, and I'm guessing it had "SSD" instead of the double "S" logo on the re-painted (why would you cover that inlay?) headstock, that's a pre 1998 NS5CR. Measure the scale. It's 34". Any Czech/Euro 5 or 6 after 1998 has crown inlays and is 35"scale. A 2001 Euro5 (LX started in 2004) would have an NBxxxx serial number on the back of the headstock. Nice bass but nowhere near the actual series or year stated above.

Also, judging by the non stock color (never seen that color from Spector) and the unusual "burst" pattern on the front of the body and the way the paint/finish meets the end of the fingerboard, I'd say not just the headstock but the whole bass has been refinished. I assume since you believe it to be a 2001 you aren't the original owner.

Hey PhatB, Ivory is selling this bass for me. It was given to me in a trade. As far as dating goes, I'm going by what the original owner told me. I'm not up on all the different Spector models. When I got the bass, the plastic headstock cover was missing, just bare wood showing. So, I decided to paint it. I would never cover up the Spector inlay intentionally. It wasn't there! It is a 34 inch scale bass. Also,, as far as I know, the bass hasn't been refinished, that's the original stock color. Sir, I promise you that no one is trying to hide anything from anyone, I've apparently been going on incomplete info. We're just trying to sell a bass, that's all. If any other questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you for your input PhatB......God Bless

I never meant there was anything wrong with the bass. Just the details of it's vintage were incorrect. Great bass, good price.
