I got this workhorse brand new in 1999 before they could even get it on the wall in the store. It was made during that short time when the SR5's had ceramic magnets. It can get more aggressive yet more warm than the usual alnico. Same wonderful classic stingray vibe, with more easily controlled highs and more inherent high mids.
I brought this on tour, and lovingly cleaned and took care of it. I played a lot of gigs on this, but play with a light touch. There isn't any functional fret wear. The few dings around the edge all happened in church and lessons, go figure. Cymbals and music stands are beasts.
Functional condition is perfect, aesthetic flaws are picture. The original hardshell case is included. It has scuffs but no dents or cracks, save one small one, pictured. Weight is around 10 pounds, typical for a stingray. The Schaller type straplocks were on it when I got it (they may be EB, but are just like Schaller).
It currently has a Hipshot Extender on the B string. It matches, with no extra holes drilled. I'll be putting back on the original tuner.
This time, let's skip the paypal and go with personal check or bank check. $950 shipped gets it, add $20 to go west of the Mississippi.
I have owned and played a LOT OF stingrays. This is my longest owned bass for a reason. I am selling everything but a P-bass and upright so I can go all in Dingwall. No trades unless you have a Dingwall Super PJ, or POSSIBLY any other Canadian Dingwall.
Update: I'd consider roughly equal value trades for a decent 6er. Higher end Ibanez, Peavey, etc.
