this bass was the most accurate sounding 70's 5 string jazz i found in my hunt for a couple 5 strings back in 2009 or so. i went to carey nordstrands shop and jimmy coppolos shop with my 78 fender jazz and none of their 70's style jazzes did it for me. i also took the same bass and played my fender against the xotics and some other vf5's. nothing struck me enough to buy them. then i got this bass and it hung strong. ive had it ever since.
in the years since, ive sold my 78, kept a 74 and put together another 76 with a bart tct and hipshot ala marcus. that 76 has become my main player and i dont play 5's very regularly. so, im going to move on from this bass. its only been on a handful of gigs and is still in excellent shape.
this one is ash/maple (duh)
f bass single coils
f bass preamp
badass v bridge
1.75 nut
10.5 pounds
these are now being shipped with aguilar pickups and hipshot bridges, both of which are step down for this type of bass imo.
2750 shipped
heres a video of one of the few times i used it
