I actually had this up here a month ago and changed my mind, deleted the thread and have played the crap out of it for the past month. I'm ready to move it this time.

Neck and body date to 1969. Pickups and pots, 1970. Everything is original except for some screws and pickup wiring. There is an aftermarket pickguard with aftermarket pots installed on it right now. The original is included with the original pots. The original guard has an extra hole in it for a switch (which you can see in the pics). OHSC is included as is the bridge and pickup cover as well as the thumb guard.

I've decided to add some trade interests.

I'm not an expert on the subject but from what I've read, that's pretty normal to have pots/pickups that don't match the date of the body and neck. I'm pretty sure the pots/pickups are original to the bass. By the time they put the bass together, they were in 1970 and used the 1970 electronics on a body that dated 69'. I believe the pickups/pot are the real date that tell you when the bass was actually put together for sale. Someone else can jump in, but I think that's the gist of it.

Usually the other way around with Fender. Large batches of pots were bought at once and sometimes lasted a while.

Logically a bass with a neck stamped 70 couldn't have been assembled earlier, either.

The switch is a series/parallel switch from presumably a Dimarzio pickup at some point. I have a 73' with the same. The necks on these era fenders are so much nicer to me than the wide thin C necks of the 50's & 60's. GLWTS
