Dingwall ABZ 5
Swamp Ash body
5 piece maple neck
Maple fingerboard
Midnight Burst
Satin finish
Dingwall Ptone & FD3 PUPS
Reach reducing strap lock
8lbs 1.9oz
This has been my main bass for about five years now and the bass I never thought I'd sell. It has travelled the world and certainly shows some wear. I just received this back from Dingwall a few days ago where I had the neck sanded to a more satin finish and a bit thinner than the stock ABZ neck as well as adding the "reach reducing" rear strap lock which makes this play more like Super J as far as the reach goes. I had the neck PUP replaced with a Ptone (original FD3 neck PUP will be included) which has really opened up even more great tonal options. About $350 in parts and labor.
As I said this bass has seen a lot of hours and has some buckle rash on the back of the body and a ding on the upper horn. The satin finish around the knobs has turned into almost a gloss finish over the years from turning them which I personally think is pretty cool. The screws on the tuners are a bit rusted from a few cruise ship contracts I did. Had I known I was going to be selling this I would have had Dingwall swap them out but since I didn't and they work just fine I didn't bother. For me it was part of the history. For you? Maybe. Maybe not. Either way it's only a few bucks in screws if it really bothers you. Everything else on this bass is spot on and a tone monster like all the Dingwalls I've played.
Ill include a Dingwall leather strap and two sets of Payson strings(one Nickel and one Stainless).
As for trades I'd love a Super P+/-Thank you for looking.
