Details

I'm selling this Roscoe along with one of my others in a different thread due to a personal issue that arose recently that will preclude me from playing for the foreseeable future. It saddens me to do it but, these basses need new homes.

This is a killer bass that I have used both live and in the studio many times. It is in nearly pristine condition and sounds great. It probably plays even better due to the thin neck profile (by Roscoe standards).

I have changed pickups and electronics a couple of times and have finally settled on the Aguilar DCBs and OBP-3. The bass is very aggressive in the mids naturally and sits prominently in any mix and the Aggies actually tame it a bit by being a little more open up top. Whereas most Roscoe Bart setups are compressed this bass is darn near the complete opposite. However, the signature growl is still there in spades.

Specs:
Roscoe SKB 3005 Custom
Flame myrtle top
Ash body with enhanced grain
Macassar ebony board ($800 upgrade!)
Purple Heart center neck lamination
Aguilar DCB pickups
Aguilar OBP-3 18v preamp with mid switch and kill switch
Black hardware
Diamond wood nut
35" scale
18.3mm spacing

The bass ships in a cheap Fender gig bag.

Price is $2200 FIRM (no trades) shipped CONUS.

Absolutely no trades.

Edited to add a lot of pictures. The ones with the Nordstrands are old. Also, links to some tracks on iTunes will be following this post.

These were all recorded with the guitar eq flat, both pickups equal. 75% of the signal was into a REDDI straight to the board and the rest was into a mic'd SVT and 810. The SVT was set flat and only used for a little "air". The only effect used was a little compression from a rack unit that is so expensive I've never heard of it.

Yes, it's a lot of country and no, I don't listen to country much myself. But, for some weird reason all these country artists wanted me for their records. For my live shows I played mostly rock and funk with this bass.

For some reason, the 35's on a Roscoe are much easier to play than the 35's of some other brands such as Lull or Lakland.

Is it just me?

Beautuful bass.....I have to keep telling myself that I don't need another Roscoe ! But this one is very tempting!

I owned this one for several years (see my avatar). This is a wonderful bass that I'd buy back in a second if it wasn't for the fact that I'm having issues playing 35 inch scale as I've gotten older. Someone's gonna get a great bass.

I owned this one as well, and I tell you...of all the Roscoes I've owned (and I think it's about 7), this was by far my favorite. One of the few basses I've sold that I wish I had back. Crisp, clean sound. Light weight. Played super. If I had the cash to spare, I'd buy it back in a minute! GLWTS!
