This Bass is amazing.
It's handmade by a Pro.
It cost over $2700 when first sold. (In the 1990's)
I bought from a guy who bought it from the original owner over 14 years ago. Actually, the original owner owed the guy Money and that's how he got it. He doesn't play Bass and it's been sitting for the last 14 Years. --When I bought it, the Batteries were dead.
So, the wear on this Bass was done by the original owner. I'd say about ten years worth, by the wear on the finish on the Bridge.
Neck-thru, with at least 7 pieces making the Neck. Maple and Mahogany mostly.
The Fretboard looks like Striped Ebony. It think it's Alder for the body wings...and capped front and Back with quilted bird's eye Maple.
18 Volt. Very fancy Pre-amp. Very flexible...and has many screws to turn to change parameters.
Locking Tuners.
Headstock has veneers front and Back.
--Folks, I went to the Post Office, and had them weigh it. 7.58 Pounds.
Sustains forever.
I don't know what kind of Bridge is on it, but it's Fancy, and has more adjustment places and screws than I've ever seen on a Bass Bridge before.
It's pretty darn clean too.
Very comfy Neck.
It needs to be set up, but it plays great.
I'd keep it, but I play Country on a 5 string, and there's just the right Fender here on TB that I'm trying to raise the funds to buy.
Help a guy get his first Custom Shop, please?
Check out the Case for this...it's high-end too. I especially like the screws on both sides that hold the inner partitions in place--not just Glue.
The straplocks are on the Guitar strap, and I'm throwing them in with the Bass.
Well, this is getting long, so I'll post the pictures.
Ask any questions you like. I'll try to get the measurements for you.
34" scale.
I'm asking for $2000,(O.B.O.!), because that's how short I am to buy the other Bass I'm looking at. --I'm not stuck on that Price.
I might do trades for high-end 5 String Basses. My Favs are Fender, Sadowsky , Xotic, (hopefully with Maple Fret Board), Maybe a very nice Tacoma Thunderchief 5 string... (I also have a Tacoma Thunderchief 4 String i could throw in in a really nice 5 String electric.)
UPDATE: I just got this Bass back from being PLEKKED and TOTALLY gone over by San Francisco Guitarworks! NO disappointments, no excuses, this Bass is READY! (9/29/2016)
