Purchased this from my favorite eBay reseller who deals with damaged instruments.
Turns out nothing was wrong with this instrument. It just has a faint "used" stamp on the back of the headstock and the Squire logo was sanded off.
I refinished the headstock down to natural and then used ReRanch vintage neck amber on the whole neck and finished with a light clear coat. Also purchased a new Fender Jaguar waterslide decal and clear coated over that.
Looks pretty good with the exception of some clear coat overspray that made it onto one of the tuners.
I'm also including a SS padded gig bag that this fits nicely in as well as a magnet for the Jazz pickup if you would like to do that mod on your own.

Also has a strap and Schaller strap locks.
I'm moved back to '74 Mustang for gigging bass so this is gathering dust.
Looks like new and sounds great.
