I have a very nice flat JBASS Pickguard from what looks to be late 60's. I've compared it to pics on line and the look and tug bar holes tend to match up.
The guard was on a 65 I recently picked up that had a warped guard and was removed and replaced with this one. The seller included the original piece to keep all parts intact.
I was able to reshape the original and put it back on the bass. (Thanks Texas Sun in July)
I've decided I don't need the 67 guard and somebody might be able to use it for a restoration project.
There is a piece of tape on the back of the guard that states
"probably 67-79"
"From a 62 j"
This was not my doing so rather than remove it I've left it. I guess he picked it up to replace the warped guard.
