Details

An out of production, amazing bass amp for sale. If I were still playing I'd keep it, but it's just too much amp to be locked away in my vacant practice room... She sounds awesome. I'm not entirely sure how to describe it... warm, articulate...Hefty, but with fast response. It should be remembered among the best classic solid state amps. In pretty great condition save for some light scratches on the bottom.

Price is $300 shipped CONUS.

I have the little, class D, KXB500. I briefly played a used one of these (800), awhile back, in a Guitar Center (I know, the ideal environment in which to explore the nuances of an amp). I can't say much one way or the other about the graphic EQ except to note that you can switch it in and out of the circuit (I like that with EQ). And I can't say how this amp would behave if pushed. I will, say, however, that the little KXB500 is a surprisingly dynamic and lively-sounding little amp (I kept mine while I sold my Markbass F500 and Aguilar TH500) and that the big amp struck me as having a similar tone but with more clarity and a more solid feel, as you might expect and hope for from a bigger, transformer-based amp.

Thanks MarkA, pretty much spot on. The graphic EQ does make the amp very flexible (though I usually kept it off because I like the eq points of the knobs and find my tone very quickly). The amp has an inherent heft to the tone that accentuates as you push it in terms of gain, but it never quite does overdrive in any usable way. However, I have yet to pair it with a OD or fuzz pedal that I did not like the results of.
