This beauty is going back to @dtsamples (from which I acquired it from).

I'm very grateful to this bass, because of it/him/her (whatever you wan to call it/him/her hahaha) I now have a new friend a bass brother!

Sigh... the bass that motivated me to order my own Z3-6. Still four or five months away.

It is a great bass! Like I told @dtsamples today, I thought I would never...EVER said this about any bass, but the neck is too thin (for me). Personally I love the AB neck more tha the Z neck, just like I love wenge necks more than maple necks (again, subjectivity!).

One thing that amazes me about Dingwalls is how well balanced they are, ZERO neck dive on both, my AB and the Z3 that I've just sold back to Dustin.

BTW, I only sold the Z3 because I needed funds to buy a Wal 6-String.

Man oh man that thing is killer too. I love the walnut bods.
That prima on reverb has a half walnut body. Crazy.

It's interesting how the models evolve. When the Afterburner was introduced about 15 years ago, it was supposed to be the no-frills affordable alternative to the Z's and Primas. Today there is no hint of a compromise. It seems that many players buy an Afterburner because they prefer them; not because they can't afford a Z.

That's my case! I really like the lower (in-body) neck joint from the AB and I love the "hump" right behind the nut.

Again, this all comes to personal taste and it's very subjective.

Oh man. I am so glad this was a straight to video release. I want a Z and a 3x and a 6 string, and I would have probably done anything (except to give up my AB's) to get my hands on this one!!

DT, if you should ever decide to sell this one again, please let me know!!
