Hey, folks.
It is time for me to thin the herd. I literally don't have any more room on the wall to hang another bass, and since this one has been in the case for a couple of months, I must move it!
The body is a 2012 Fender AS Jazz body, 100% made in the USA. The 2012 vintage has the new upgraded thin finish, improved neck pocket and 60's Custom Shop pickups. Finish is Candy Cola, nice dark red with depth. I traded for this body from another TBer (hey Dickie!) who purchased it new from Stratosphere in 2014. He picked the lightest American Standard body they had at just a hair over 6lbs fully loaded (passive). It currently has an Audere JZ3 preamp, which sounds amazing with the CS pickups, but I can put it back to passive and work on the price a little. Plus it has Dunlop Straplocks installed, and a Fender Mint pickguard. Excellent condition.
I purchased the neck in 4/2015 from Warmoth - it is a Super Jazz neck, 1.5 nut, 10" radius, 21-fret roasted maple with roasted maple board. Steel reinforcement rods, unfinished, tuners are Hipshot, nut is Corian. The roasted maple needed no finish per Warmoth - this thing is smooth and plays like butter - feels like my MMSR5 neck. Currently has my custom waterslide decal, which can be removed with some Scotch tape. Excellent condition.
Not sure about the overall weight, but it is much lighter than my other Warmoth bass with Alder body. Overall, the bass is very well balanced and plays and sounds fantastic. The neck pocket is a very tight, excellent fit. Very light signs of use, no major dents or dings.
My buddy tried to buy this one off me last summer, but at the time I wasn't ready to let it go. He's not in a position to buy now, so somebody will hopefully get a tremendous player. Which is why I really, really want to sell this as a bass, and not parts. There is some mojo in this one, collectively.
**EDIT: Shipped in a Fender gig bag - I pack very well and ship fast (see my feedback).
Asking price is ** EDIT: Price reduced to $699, 'as is' with the Audere preamp installed**. That gets you a lot of American-built bass, with high-quality parts. Shipping is included in that price, which is another factor to consider in making offers. I will ship to the lower 48-USA, no international, please. And PayPal is preferred, thank you.
Thanks for looking.
