Details

For sale is my first custom Low End Jazz bass, a very gold six string. Brian's basses speak for themselves and I can attest that after a few hundred gigs, this thing is really an incredible and insanely versatile instrument. I had it built when I was playing in a lot of gospel bands, but over the years my style and preferences have shifted and I'm just not using it as much. With baby no. 5 on the way, I'm becoming less sentimental and finally willing to part with it!

The finish on this bass is a custom color that I call Solomon gold. I told Brian that I wanted it to really match the hardware and I sent him probably 20 pictures of what I DIDN'T want. I was using gold-plated strings at the time, and it really all came together well. Includes tortoise and pearl white pickguards.

Custom electronics cover made by me - I didn't like the look of a black one, so I made it out of some kind of wood that matches maple perfectly and attached it very securely with magnets. I also wanted to see the body wood somewhere, so I removed all of the finish from inside the cavity and built a little preamp holder. Everything works great!

There are a few blemishes in the finish, mostly around the neck screws and the one crack below the control plate. Tiny bits of clear coat have worn off around the frets. It has recessed Dunlop straplocks.

@kerrycares I will weigh when I get home. The washer was always loosening over time, they aren't locking. Unfortunately it just fell off one day and I didn't notice. The switch doesn't move at all, but a replacement is probably $12. That particular switch is passive/active.

I don't know what I was thinking. I just spent two hours of serious shedding with this thing and had a blast. Taking it off of the market.

I'm flattered, and also sorry that I got your hopes up! Honestly I had it priced higher than others have sold for recently in the market anyway. After getting to know it again last night, I highly recommend you look for another one!
