Weighing in at 9.5 lbs, is a Fodera Emperor Standard Special with a Port Orford Cedar top. Port Orford Cedar is described on Tonewood.com as "a rare, hard variety of Cypress, very light in weight with incredible strength. It fashions and fabricates with no issues and finishes with a glass like smoothness and amazing stability. It is ideal for tops, backs & sides, and necks. POC is also amazingly resonant with tonal qualities second to none. The sound is similar to Redwood, a bit less bright with full rich sound and harmonic development."

The bass comes with the original Fodera hard shell case inclusive of that heavenly Fodera smell when you open the case. Also included are matching gold colored strap locks ($30 value),Fodera truss rod kit (never used...$30 value) and all the original Fodera papers.

I purchased the bass in 2014 from the original owner who is also a TB member. I've only gigged with it at my church maybe 5 times at most. Sonically, this bass is incredible, but I'm just not playing it enough as I prefer lighter 5 strings at or under 8 lbs. It's taken me 3 years to come to grips with selling it as it's such an amazing instrument. So, it's predominantly a case queen that's been in a climate controlled environment exclusively as long as I've owned it.

The only blemishes are a small ding on the edge of the lower bout control side and a very small blemish to the left of the bridge. These are shown in the pics.

Very nice bass! Why are you selling it?
I like light basses, at minimum under 8 lbs and the closer to 7 lbs the better. If this bass was close to 8 lbs, I wouldn't be selling it as the tone is awesome. I'm 65 with repetitive stress in my neck. I play a lot and just prefer lighter basses. My existing Sadowsky 5 strings are ~7.85 lbs and are the ones I gig with. I love the Fodera too but after a few hours I feel the extra weight.
