These don't seem to pop up for sale as often as they used to. I guess people are realizing what incredible basses they are. Prices seem to be up into the $600-700 range, so this is a STEAL! This one's a gorgeous redburst with pearloid pickguard (my pics don't do it justice--you can see some grain and the color is definitely more red than in the pics). OHSC included.

I play 5s almost exclusively now so looking to move this. It's in excellent condition, particularly for its age. Has a few dings which I tried to capture in pics. Also a cigarette burn on the headstock (no smoke smell--I don't smoke; the mark was there when I bought this a long time ago).

I spent years searching for the right pickups and finally found them: oddly enough, I ended up with Fender USA Jazz pickups! In this bass they're perfect--the 2-Tek seems to compensate for what some people feel is a lack of clarity in Fender pickups. At some point the front pickup went bad (could be the pickup, could be a loose connection or bad pot. No idea). Worst case, a replacement Fender USA pickup should be around $25 used (I paid $50 for the set).

Cash price includes shipping and OHCS.

Trades: I'm mainly interested in 5-string basses. Yamaha 1025 or 425, maybe TRB series (not TRBX). Other interesting trades considered. Partial trades with cash to me is fine, but I can't put up cash right now.

Also interested in Source Audio Manta or other awesome envelope pedals.

Will only ship to US lower 48.

I have the truss tod cover and will include it of course. First digit of serial # is 7, so I believe it's a 1997. I don't own a scale. I can tell you that to me it's not a backbreaker nor a lightweight--I'd call it solid. It used to be my main gigging bass and I have a bad back, if that helps.

It really is a wonderful bass--I just haven't played my 4-strings in years so decided to sell. I miss playing it but for what I do I generally need 5 strings. I have a Cruise 5 2tek, so I decided this one can go :).
