This is a Gary Willis signature bass, hand-crafted by Sugi guitars in Japan. This is NOT the GWB-1, it is the GWB1005, the one that is created start-to-finish by a single luthier.
I bought this on ebay from a music store, at a dealer premium: Used Ibanez GWB1005 Gary Willis 5-String Electric Bass Guitar Natural | eBay
But I see by the serial number that it is the very bass from this listing: SOLD - Ibanez GWB1005 (Handcrafted in Japan, purchased new in 2009)
eBay listing says it is 6lbs, 15oz. But It feels more like 7.5 to me. Still pretty darned light for a fiver. Condition is as described in the talkbass listing: pretty clean, with some fine markings on the ebonal board. Previous seller marked some imperfections in the picture. I'm sure they must be there, but I didn't notice them myself (they not obvious to spot).
This is a beautiful bass. I had a GWB1, and the hype is true about this being higher quality. It is nice. But... I once again realize I should stick to 4-string, and that I am not going to become a great jazz player any time soon. So I am selling it. Would also consider a trade for the right Mike Lull PJ4 or V4 (that is more my style, and fits my abilities better).
Local sale strongly preferred (SF Bay Area).
Thanks for reading!
P.S. This is a minor thing, but the case is so nice! And it includes the case candy including a very nice strap.
