Early 80's med scale bass up for grabs. I bought this to do a full restoration on it, but later decided to focus my efforts on another project. I received this in "beat up" condition (see SOLD - S.D. Curlee). It was worse than I thought. Someone scraped the finger board with a blade of some sort and varnished over it. The body was sticky and the electronics are non original. The "E" tuner post has a small bend in it but functions fine, there are a couple small cracks that have been glued and numerous dings and scratches; however the back of the neck is ding free. This bass is beyond "road worn", but the 3 piece maple neck is straight and very stable; truss rod works freely and frets have plenty of life in them.
I sanded most of the bass down to the wood and sealed it with 3 coats of Minwax Poly. Neck, fingerboard and body are silky smooth to the touch. I cleaned up the hardware and reloaded the "econo" pre and pups back into it. Imo a set of used DiMarzios wired in passive would be ideal. Also strung it up with a lightly used set of TI JF-344 flats. Weight approx 8.5#s.
Shipped/insured with no case for $325.00 conus. NOW $300.00
