$60 shipped for an SGD Sidewinder neck pickup, in emg 35 casing for 4 string. No logo on top. Cases with logos were not available, when I ordered.
This is a sidewinder blade pickup, which uses ceramic magnets. So that's two coils turned sideways, with a single shared blade in the middle of them, to sense the strings. The tone here is pretty interesting. Its really sweet and detailed in the high mids. Nice stiff low end. Yet the low mids are scooped out. It's warm, but not saturated.
I have seen people mention red hot chili peppers with these pickups. Lane Poor and ric-o-sound, as well.
Output is lower. I would generally compare the output (not the tone) to a Fender custom shop 60 jazz pickup.
This thing would probably be awesome with a decent pre-amp. It also seemed to pair well with other pickups I tried, in terms of getting a good blended tone with both pickups. Sometimes pickups can be real picky about mixing and matching. This one is a lot less picky.
It's in great physical and good cosmetic shape. It does have a bit of residue on the bottom, from grey dual sided tape, which I used with foam. It's not invasive. Plenty of wire, never cut.
I like this pickup a lot. The only reason I am getting rid of it, is that I no longer have a bass suitable for emg 35. I am the original owner, since 2012.
