Details

One owner purchased in 2011 new. Pickups are standard but I replaced the preamp with a Roger Sadowsky one.

Controls:
Neck PU vol
Bridge PU vol
Stacked bass,treble boost only
VTC (pull for passive)

I find it to be a more modern/aggressive sound but has a lot of flexibility with the VTC. The preamp is a $270 add on. No issues, set up with 45-100 DR nickel plated Sunbeams. If you like those I can send an extra set.

Shipped CONUS only in a Fender gig bag.

Weighed in a little under 8.5 lbs by my scale.

Do these have the small, vintage frets that the 4402's use's

From Lakland site:

Fret Size
.041/.085"

It is listed for both the 44-02 and the 44-AJ, but also the DJ4 and my DJ seems to have a much lower crown on the frets. In closing, I really don't know for sure.

Plekked basses feel different because a machine grinds down the frets. Your DJ may be Korean. Frets filed by hand.
