Thinking of going to the dark side?
This bass is a HJC Customs 9 string bass. The instrument has some light playing wear, but is overall good shape. The Bass is currently in California at SVS Designs for some adjustments and it will ship from that location. The bass is finished with tweaking and is ready to go.

9 string / 35" scale
Body: Walnut with Paduak strips
Neck: Walnut and Paduak multi-laminate
Top: Book-matched Rosewood
Pre-amp: Active 2 band
Pickup: James Reed Engineering Neo MM style
Bridge: Custom Kahler Bridge - 17.5mm spacing - adjustable to 19mm
Disclosures: I acquired this bass in a partial trade deal. There were a few things about the bass that I did not like, so I sent it to SVS Designs in California for some tweaks including a new graphite nut; fret crowning, leveling and polishing; re-wiring the preamp; new tuners; and cleaning / oiling of the body; setup.
The only thing that wasn't "fixed" was a few fret slots are a little more open than I would like - but that doesn't affect the playability. Just decided to head a different direction, thus it is up for sale. I will not pretend that this is a perfect instrument....it is heavy with some light playing wear, but it plays well and sounds great in my opinion. If you are wanting to get into an extended range bass on a budget, then this may be for you. Offers accepted, no low balls please.
