Details

For Sale: Hamer Cruise Bass 2Tek in Trans Green with matching headstock and parchment pearloid pickguard. Excellent condition.

Haven't played 'er for a while, perhaps time to get her into the hands of someone younger!

USA made Hamer. For those who know what these are, they don't come up very often. It has the smaller lighter version of the 2Tek bridge. Includes OHSC.

When this first came out, it was the only bass that Bass Player Magazine gave their highest rating to.

CONUS sales only.

I was watching a Feetwood Mac documentary last night and saw John playing one back when they were new. He's an Alembic player, so that tells you something. I'm in Canada though, so GLWTS.

Dang. It's tempting. And it sure is purty.

I was born in Detroit! I offer a discount for hometown bassists :smug:

Were you actually born in Detroit, or Metro Detroit? I grew up in Southfield, but right on 8 mile, so that gives me some Detroit cred. LOL. I'm seriously considering it, but I originally started searching because I wanted a 60's style jazz bass. This is a bit more modern. And I've never played one, and videos on Youtube are sorely limited, so I'm not sure how well it does with a more vintage tone. All I've read is that the 2tek makes it punchier, which I don't necessarily want. But punchy might not be a bad thing.

I have the same one if you want to try one, I've had 5 other Hamer 2Teks, all of them feel the same (which is great).

How much does this bass weigh? I had a Cruise bass with the 2-Tek bridge about 17-18 years ago, and if memory serves me correctly, it was a heavy beast .... but it played and sounded great![/QUOTE]

This one has the 2Tek Beidge Version 2, which has a smaller backplate and hence much much lighter than the Version 1. I can see that if you had the Version 1, you might notice the weight. Mine compares with in weight to all my other basses, I really don’t notice a difference.
