Truly one of the best bass models turned out by Fender in the modern era, solidly built and smartly designed, and courtesy of the parallel/series/single coil mode switches for each pickup, it has probably the most usable tonal options of any bass with passive electronics that I've ever played. This one was produced in 1997.
Condition-wise, this bass is in good shape for a well-used 20-year old instrument. There are some minor dings and scratches, the most noticeable one being a ding about 3mm in length between the bridge and the pickguard (it doesn't go thru the finish, though). Other wear areas: the neckplate has some scratches, and there are a couple of dings on top of the headstock. I tried to represent all of that in the pics as much as possible. The bass has Dunlop Straplocks installed instead of the original strap buttons.
The electronics work perfectly, and although some of the lower frets look a bit rough, they play fine with no buzzing or other issues. Intonation is great and the B string is nice and solid. Strings currently on the bass are GHS Contact Core Super Steels, .45 - .125. set up with medium to medium-low action.
Specs:
I didn't get the original case with the bass, so I'm including a beat but functional SKB hardshell case.
$1450 SHIPPED within continental US
I'm not using PayPal at the moment, but I'll accept a USPS Money Order mailed to me or cash if it's a local sale. Sorry for the inconvenience. I'm not interested in any trades, thank you.
Local pickup is ok, of course, and anybody who's in the area for Winter NAMM is welcome to meet up with me and check the bass out in person (please give me some advance notice so I can make sure to have it with me).
