Hey folks! Here we have a Hofner Ignition Series Violin Bass, sunburst, with original Hofner hardshell case, made in Indonesia. Price drop to $300 shipped CONUS.
I bought this from North Coast Music a couple of years ago. A few upgrades/mods: the black volume knobs (which I will include) were replaced with the vintage-style "tea cup" knobs (cream and gold); it is strung with La Bella 760 FHBB flatwounds, designed for the Beatle Bass; and I removed the unattractive legend on the truss rod cover ("B-Bass HI-Series").
This is the full hollowbody model, not the "Contemporary" series that has the center block. This bass has massive low end. IMO, it comes closer to the classic Paul McCartney tone than the Contemporary model. Many threads here on TB about this subject.....
The bass is in excellent condition. I haven't gigged it that much. There is some minor finish swirling and a few minor finish flaws from the factory.
This particular bass has a very nice sunburst finish - whoever sprayed it was having a good day. I've been playing it with the pickguard off, to get the full effect of the finish, but I will ship with the pickguard installed.
The bass will be shipped in the original Hofner fitted case, and will be well-packed. The case is in very good to excellent condition with a few superficial marks.

- One-piece maple set neck, pearloid neck cap.
- Rosewood fretboard with dot inlays and side markers.
- 30" scale, 22 frets. Nut width 1.65" (42 mm).
- Vintage-style floating bridge and trapeze tailpiece.
- Two mini-humbucker pickups (Hofner Ignition Staple Nickel).
- Pearloid pickguard.
