This is the bass colloquially referred to as the "longhorn" or "boner" bass, so-called because of the exaggerated bass-side horn (shaped that way to accommodate the 22-fret neck). This model was Fender's premium offering at the time, and the build quality is superior. This bass plays with the lowest action of any of my basses (not that I'm a low action fanatic).

This is not a collector's item, it's a player, and has normal wear for a 27-year-old bass that's been gigged. It has a couple of nice dings on the rear lower edge of the body (see pics) and a couple of other dents. Fret wear is moderate. Still and all, it plays very well. I would characterize this as a modern sounding bass with good lows and sparkly highs, due to the Lace Sensor pickups (they're not stamped as Lace Sensors, but they are). Everything is in good working and mechanical order. Will ship in original hard-shell case, which has been beat to hell. Weight is about 9 lb 10 oz, according to my postal scale.
Edit: If you'd prefer a functional case to the original case, I will ship in a lightweight polyfoam case instead of the original one. Buyer's choice.
