Details

Bought this on TB last year and it really is a nice bass. Huge low end. Tight low B-string. Wide spectrum of tones when you factor in the Bill Lawrence humbucker in the bridge position.

The main problem I'm having is that my eyes are just not what they used to be and I find I get lost on the dark rosewood fret-board - especially in dark club-settings. Think I need to stick with the maple boards.

It appears to be all original but have not taken it apart. There is a scrape/scuff (?) on back of the neck behind the fourth fret, g-string-side (pictured). It was there when I purchased it. It's smooth and I've never noticed it while playing. There are also four small ding/dimples on the back of the body near the battery compartment that are barely noticeable and really hard to capture in a photograph.

Other than the imperfections I've mentioned, it's in really great shape for an 18-year-old bass.
It takes one 9V battery and is currently strung with 2816 Ernie Ball Slinky Flatwound - Cobalt strings. Strings were installed in August of 2017 and sound awesome IMO.

Weighs 9.2 lbs. Includes OHSC case. Price includes shipping.
Paypal preferred. Continental U.S. Sales Only please. Thanks for taking a look.

Open to trades if you wanna pm me. I'm a Fender-guy and prefer active 5-string Jazz basses w/ maple boards.

I have a 2002 like this and was having trouble with the side dots and seeing them on stage too.
I bought red reflective tape, punched out small dots, stuck 'em on the side - problem solved.
Just saying, great basses!

Why a Unicorn?

The the active dual-pickup 5-string versions were only available for a few years during the early 2000's. By 2010 when the next generation of the deluxe series came out, the deluxe p-bass V was no longer available. Fender still offers a 4-string version but the fivers are becoming fairly rare even though there seemingly is still interest in them.
