I traded an Ash Tele Bass I had listed for this Squier 60s JB—— —-(I wanted the really nice, $175 EMG pickups they had installed). I reinstalled the stock pickups and wiring harness. Annnnnnd, I also confiscated the pickguard (saved the tort for myself) and thumb rest. Other than that, I’ve left it alone. But, full disclosure....I definitely rigged two wires where I had to reattach to the harness. If I had a soldering iron, I’d fix it, but I’m not the best at soldering. The rig job will probably last forever, but, still, just letting you know. I also haven’t adjusted the truss rod, and apparently the guy I got it from never did either.
What do I know about it? It seems to be in near unplayed condition. The guy bought it in 2010/11 from GC (he actually had the paper work and receipt), and he later won some pickups (the EMG’s) that he later had installed. He said he just didn’t want to rout the hole for the 9v, so he left this battery hanging out w/o a pickguard. My guess, it sat in a case for most of the past 6 years. Overall though, it seems solid.
Edit: There are definitely a few factory finish faults. Or, the guy bumped it, but I’m betting it’s a factory blemish. Barely noticeable.
