I played a bass like this one 40+ yrs ago in a western swing band - belonged to the band leader. This is a really nice piece of history here.

I don’t play. So I’ll have to get one of my friends to try it and then I’ll report back. I know someone who owns a B4 so he should be able to give a fair accessment.

If it’s anything like my B4, it should play and sound fantastic. I think the Epiphone basses out-perform Kays in every way. This is the most attractive one I’ve seen.

Hi, 360Guy,

I am potentially interested. I have an Epiphone B-4, serial number 760, and it is an awesome bass except for a buzz that my local luthier just can’t seem to fix. I’ve played Kays, Gibson’s, and American Standards, and nothing quite matches an Epi. I am not sure how messaging works on this forum, so let me know the best way to contact you.

I used to have a B-5. Wonderful bass. Mine had the same checking in the finish too.
