I am putting this amazing Martin Keith Elfin 5 up for trade/sale. Trade value 2400, sale 2100. I just can’t make friends with 34.5” scale. Partial trades for amps & pedals considered. Bass trade interests are scale length 34” and smaller, 9 lbs or less, with a preference for 30-33” scale. 5 or 6 string basses preferred. My favorites are: Martin Keith basses, Muckelroy basses, Wood and Tronics, Veillette, Rob Allen.

Such a cool bass and a great price! How do the Cirtron PU's sound? Haven't found too much about them...

That’s hard For me to answer because I have 2 basses with citrons and the basses sound completely different. The MK bass pictured in my avatar (my main bass) is fretless and I always use the combination of the piezo with the Citron. This bass has a lot of low to low mid focus. I tend to cut a little of the bass to get the tone I prefer. You might want to check the Citron website for a description and maybe Jeff Scott can weigh in as they are his favorite pickups!

I got to play this bass a couple of days ago and it really is a fantastic instrument. It’s beautifully built, incredibly light, balances wonderfully on a strap, and sounds great. At $1800 it is a good deal, and 77stingray is great TB’er to deal with. If I didn’t have physical limitations (spinal damage/surgeries) that make long scale basses hard for me to play, I think I would have taken it home.

I just got to play a 5 string at Martin's place that he made with the 34.5" scale. Just wow....I mean, I love my 33" scale basses.....but that extra length is REALLY powerful in the low end. It was a bit alarming for me coming from shorter scale basses. I feel both are viable for very different reasons. This bass will make someone extremely happy.
