Details

Selling off my collection of basses as I've moved to Colorado from California, am semi-retiring and have left my band after 7 years. Don't see myself connecting with another band at this point in my life, so realistically there is no longer a need to keep these other than being a hoarder. So PLEASE - NO TRADE OFFERS.

Amazing growly tone. You can dial in any tone with the deluxe, custom John East Uni preamp. It has frequency voicing, sweepable mid, stacked knobs, with a push/pull treble knob to add sonic brightness to your slap.

Here's a video review of the bass from my good friend Steve Araujo of The Bass Hang:

You can adjust the frequency of each band inside the electronic's cavity, making tonal possibilities endless.
Beautiful sunburst finish on a premium 5A Myrtle Burl top, matching headstock, amazing ash-purple heart-ash neck, Pau Ferro fingerboard and an Alder body, 34" scale. Will ship in a premium TKL hard shell gigbag.

There are a couple of VERY minor dings on the upper side of the alder body (I tried to capture them in the pics). There are also a couple of small dings in the back of the body that you cannot even see, (but I need to mention it), and a few small, tiny scratches on the bridge, but no dings or scratches whatsoever on the top, neck or headstock. Even with those few blemishes, I would say the bass is in excellent to mint condition.

Spec's:
  • 34" scale
  • Weight: 8lbs, 4oz
  • Spacing at the bridge - 18.5mm (it does not adjust out anymore than this)
  • Alder body
  • Ash neck with Purple Heart stringers
  • Pau Ferro board
  • 5AAA Myrtle burl top
  • Skjold/ East Deluxe Custom Uni Pre
  • Skjold Custom Dual Coil Pickups
$2,800 FIRM - shipped within the lower 48 states. NO TRADES and PayPal is ok

17-19mm spacing is correct. This one is set at 18.5mm at the moment.

Not all of them do 19mm. I’m the original owner of this one and I didn’t quite get 19mm. It was close.

I think 18.5mm is ideal on this neck. 19mm would put the outer strings too close to the edges.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the bass Pete made for me. It was the very first Gen 5 made and I asked Pete for a 18.5mm spacing. That top was one that I had sent Pete and it is absolutely 5A and was definitely not cheap. Asking price on this bass is a great deal considering all the upgrades on this bass. I still think this was one of the best playing basses I ever owned. The feel of the neck on this bass is just ridiculous.

Hi Roger, you spec’d out an awesome bass! For some reason you didn’t buy it so I ended up buying it from Pete. I really liked it and sold it for business startup funds a couple years ago after my band stopped playing.

I had a question from a prospective buyer asking me what year this was built. Do you happen to recall? Thanks for your help in advance!

It was finished in Jan 2013. Roger was trying to have it at NAMM 2013.

Beautiful Bass! These are pretty rare and don't usually come up very often in the classifieds!
Someone should buy this bass!

Skjold basses are really incredible, and are as good or better than any other brand out there period!
I have my second Skjold on order now, and will be ordering a third hopefully soon.

You speak the truth brother! This is indeed a special bass. The top alone is worth big $$, not to mention how this plays and sounds!
