Well, I had to call it SOMETHING.
What we have here is one outstanding 4 stringed bass. It started of as a MADE IN JAPAN Fender Jaguar bass.
By the time it came into my possession, it had morphed and morphed again and again into what it is now, and for the first time, I am offering it up for sale.
The most glaring and obvious change is the uber-cool seafoam green/matching headstock refinish. I do not know who did the work, but it came out sleek and sexy as all hell, as you can see in the pics. That cross you see on the back upper horn is UNDER the top coat, so it stays.
Looking at the bass one could surmise that that was the only change, but alas no, we're just getting started.
The three switches on the lower front horn are NOT hooked up; they do not function not because they're broken, they do not function because the SADOWSKY HUM-CANCELLING pickups and electronics cannot and will not join in holy matrimony. Those three switched LOOK cool as the other side of the pillow, so we leave 'em. The upper horn handles ALL the tone- those would be an active/passive switch, and bass and treble boost "wheels". A volume control and a pickup selector knob (right next to the input jack) complete the deal.
I hope I've explained this clearly.
Make no mistake about it-sonically this unique bass sounds more like a Sadowsky than a Fender. The clarity is just great due to the pickups. The neck and rosewood board are pure Fender all the way, and a representation of the best Fender Japan has offer. A Jaco growl is a snap, and a P Bass warmth can be dialed in- SIMPLY, unlike the standard Jaguar bass, which nearly required a manual.
There are NO dings, or scratched worth mentioning. A tiny bit of expected swirling can be seen, but only when light hits it a certain way. Super action, and beyond comfortable neck, with fully functional truss rod.
The tortoise shell guard looks GREAT but I'll send along a Fender "MINT GREEN" if that suits you better.
I'll ship it in a nicely padded ROAD RUNNER gig bag, and of course pack supremely securely.
