What is the Copper, Circular, thingy attached to the Yellow and Black wires, and where does that go?

What you are looking at here:

Goes here:

It is the noise cancelling coil; the phantom pickup if you will. It does require body routing similar to what is shown above.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Thanks,

Looks like... the dummy coil is design to match each of the specific pickup winding, as the website table suggests?
So what pickup is this set made to match?
Thank you!

I am glad you point this out as I did forget to post that information. The dummy coil design on this preamp is designed to work best with the Lindy Fralin standard wound Jazz bass pickup set. Unfortunately I have already sold my set of fralins that were installed with this (again, they were the readily available standard wound set- nothing too specialized). I cannot say whether a standard set of Fender pups would work with this..Might be a question for Audere. I will see if I can find out..
Thanks,
Brian

I wonder if this would sound good installed in a Geddy Lee signature with the stock pick ups.

It most likely would but I cannot confirm since the preamp was optimized for Lindy Fralin pickups. I cannot imagine there is a huge difference but YMMV...
