Selling (or possibly trading) my 2008 MTD 535-24.
This bass is as close to mint as you can get. There is one tiny mark on the back that I was unable to photograph. It really is almost non existent and the rest of the bass is flawless. The previous owner was a guitar player who barely used this bass and it stayed safe in it's case for the better part of 10 years.
This bass is a beast. The black limba body is spectacular in person and the Rose of the Mountain Top is gorgeous. The photos do not do it justice. It is a one piece top and this extremely rare wood is more dense than ebony so tonally it just sings. The low end is punchy and clear and the high end is incredibly musical and like all 535's the notes are incredibly consistent and clear from string to string and fret to fret.
I am ideally looking to sell this to recoup for some recent purchases (as usual) but I am potentially open to trades. I am only interested in 5 string active bass's. Ideally I would be looking to get some significant cash (in the $1500 range) in any trade. Of particular interest would be Sadowsky Metro Moderns or possibly a Valenti Modern 5. No jazz bass’s please. I can’t bond with them.
I am not open to adding any money but would consider a straight trade for a Sadowsky NYC Modern. I would love another NYC modern so if anyone has one hit me up.
