1995 Precision Bass Special, commonly called a cowpoke bass. I believe made at the Ensenada Mexico Factory. Features are: Kubicki designed preamp [stacked volume-blend and stacked treble- bass], 22 fret maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, narrower jazz profile neck, and an ash body.
Modifications made by me. I cut a custom cream pearl pickguard and installed Dimarzio p & j pickups from an early Kramer aluminum dmz5000.
The maple neck has aged to a nice darker color, and the back of the neck has been scraped to a better feeling satin finish.The red color is a transparent and shows the ash grain.
There are some light scratches in the finish mostly on the back and edges but overall the bass is in very nice condition. The preamp is very loud, [if I plug it in after any of my other basses I always have to roll back the amp volume]. The bass really punches through a mix. No surprise, straight ahead PJ tones. Old baby scale weight at 10.0 lbs.
