Details

Up for sale is a completely mint Zon TJ headless.

Bass has a Guanacoste body with Myrtle burl top and Wenge tone block. I purchased this bass in 2013 and received it in late 2016. Why am I selling it? I thought that I could deal with a 32 inch scale. The adjustment was just too much for me. I found myself gravitating towards my long scale basses and giving this one less and less use.

Aguilar OBP-3 pre-amp

18 mm spacing at the bridge (Todd's bass is 16.5mm)

What does the bass sound like? Here are some clips:

Not sure how many of these were made, but this would be only the 3nd I know of. The other being Todd’s personal bass

Yes, they're pretty rare. You have to wait forever to get one, and this is the only one I know of with a more comfy (to me) 18mm spacing at the bridge :-).

I have one that has quilted maple top, and the 16.5mm spacing at the bridge...love it, would never part with it, but I am older and arthritis prevents me from playing a 34", which I also have. I understand why you would let it go...since a 34" is great if you have the flexibility for it...I just don't at this stage...if I didn't own one already, I purchase this one!!

BTW, this is an awesome bass!! Great tone response, and very playable, especially if you are playing chords in the upper register!! Hope this sale goes well for you!!

Wow. What a bass and the scale is quite a rarity combined with the headless config. Ease of play-ability must be outstanding. Way out of my price range but someone else will be very happy with this. Love Zon basses and their customer service.

Can you talk about how the B feels with the 32 inch scale? Bet it's still very tight knowing Zon quality.

Low B feels impeccable. Tight and focused for any bass. The tone and comfort is fantastic, but the 32 scale is too short for me. Damn you 32 inch scale club for selling the scale so well. It's just not as comfy to me as a nice 34-36. Maybe I'll come back to it when I'm older.

I will agree with basschanges...very tight low B...I felt the same for many years on a 32" scale... If you are still playing when you get to your late 60's...you will probably migrate to a 32" to extend your playing...arthritis being what it is!

Kubicki ex factor basses are also the 32". I waited a year or more for the Vinny. I live near by so it was a personal buy and service. But I cannot help but say the quality is awesome.
