That is SO wrong and SO right. Even perfectly beautiful as a standard 4 or 5, but man...Tony Levin says there's a certain perversity about 3 strings and I so agree.

Played a song in church yesterday where I only used the E string.
There's another one where I only use the A string.
It'd be cool to pull this out for those tunes.
Not sure I could regularly get by without my G string though.

Kim Stone has a 3-string Roscoe, he told me that it took a while for Roscoe to have Hipshot made the bridge. I thought Kim’s was the only 3-string in existance, I still remember the feel of the neck and new ideas that came up when playing a 3 string Bass, and it makes you think do you even need a 4-string?
