I have received more information on the neck issue and it is not corresponding with that of the luthier. Accordingly, I am listing this as "No Longer For Sale", until I sort this out. I thank those members who brought this to my attention. I am sorry for any inconvenience.
Update 1/22/19:
Due to a question about the neck by a member, I sent him the following two, new pictures of what he thought to be a crack. I just returned from another trip to the luthier for his opinion. He believes the blemish is not a crack, but a separation in the finish due to it being a three-piece neck and 51 years of temperature/humidity changes. He has many years experience in building, modifying and repairing instruments. He prefers three-piece necks because they are less susceptible to warping, twisting and cracking. He also said he can't fix it, if it wasn't broken! I will add that if this bass was in perfect condition, I would not be offering it for $2,295.00. Maybe I should just say it's "road-worn"

Update 1/4/19:
Just picked up the bass from the luthier to have it checked over and everything is fully functional. In fact, he did a truss rod adjustment as I watched and the action is nice and low. He graded the bass as 8 out of 10...he said any higher and it would have to be in new, unplayed condition. However, he did say that it appeared the solder on one pot had been touched up at some point and felt it was necessary to secure the outside braid on the baritone switch, which he did.
In light of his findings, I wanted to disclose them and reduce my asking price to $2,295.00
This is the same luthier who did the refinish in my avatar.
The only thing it is missing is the foam on the adjustable mute.
