PRICE REDUCED TO $1550

For sale, my beautiful Custom shop Dingwall Afterburner I series / four string bass in Whale pool burst. 100% made in Canada by Dingwall.

The body is alder with a five piece maple neck and wenge fingerboard.

The bass is in excellent condition with minimal play wear, two tiny marks as shown that were difficult to photograph.

From Dingwall:

ELECTRONICS ON AFTERBURNER I

"The Afterburner I and ABZ basses feature passive electronics with powerful tone shaping capability. The controls are a simple, no nonsense master volume, a rotary pickup selector and a master tone. The rotary pickup selector doesn’t load down the pickups like a blend or second volume control. The resulting tone has great dynamic range with lots of punch. The tone gets really growly with the bridge pickup soloed. Switch to both pickups in parallel for a nicely “produced” sounding tone with scooped mids that’s great for sitting back in the mix with lots of detail to the note, or for a perfect slap tone. Need more power? Switch to series for a heavy, full sounding humbucker tone that cuts, make that pounds through a mix. Looking for a deep mellow tone reminiscent of a 50’s P? Solo the neck pickup, dial down the tone a bit and you’re there."

The bass weighs 8.9lbs on my bathroom scale. Very lightweight and super comfortable to play for long periods

She'll ship in a Dingwall gig bag along with the original tuner that has been replaced with a matching hipshot detuner.

Buyer pays actual shipping costs - CONUS only.

Thanks for checking out the ad.

I believe this is my old Dingwall.
Does/did it have a flight case?

I didn't buy it with a flight case. I didn't need one and the shipping costs for the flight case was ridiculously expensive so I opted for a Dingwall gigbag instead.

Do you know what the body wood is and if it has the Glock electronics?
I assume it's the Glock two band with a series/parallel toggle?

Beautiful! Dingwall is the only bass on my GAS list. Do the 4s have a 37-34" scale or a 36.25-34" scale?

What does the switch do? Don't see it mentioned on the Dingwall schematics

Guess I don't understand its purpose with the rotary switch. Regardless, GLWTS!

Thanks, here's some additional info from the Dingwall website: Afterburner 1 | Dingwall Guitars

"All Dingwall basses feature a 4-position rotary pickup selector. The rotary switch does two things. It reduces the load on the pickups compared to a standard blend control and it offers 4 distinct bass tones that are all very musically useful and versatile."

I have a Dingwall Combustion 5 string and I absolutely love it. If you're scared of the fanned frets, don't be. So natural and easy to play. Just do it!

I have the 5 string version of this bass. Whalepool blue is my favorite color for Dingwall. These bases are amazing, I don't even play my other basses anymore. GLWS.
