RARE Yamaha TRB 5PII Made in Japan.
This was Yamaha's top of the line flagship bass introduced in the late 90s and it's build quality and playability was often referred to that of being on par with American boutique builders.
I received this in a partial trade. It could use some TLC in my opinion while others have told me to leave the mojo as is. I was planning on getting the enamel refinished, replacing the tuning machines, and buffing out the patina on the bridge.
I have some other projects already lined up, so I figured I'd list it for sale/trade in the meantime. If it doesn't move, I'll keep her and make her good as new when I finish with my other projects.
SPECS:
35" Scale
Neck-through design
19mm string spacing
Body Wood: Swamp Ash with Bubinga Top
Neck Wood: 5pc Maple& Premium Grade Mahogany
Ebony Fingerboard
Yamaha Alnico V Humcancelling Soapbar Pickups
Piezo bridge Pickup
Controls - Master Volume, Pickup balancer, Piezo Volume, 3-Band EQ
Yamaha BPZ-7 Bridge (Each bridge saddle equiped w/ piezo pickup)
Gold Hardware
10.6 lbs on digital bathroom scale.
This first post will include the pics from the previous owner which does reveal a blemish in the clear coat enamel. I will follow up with a second post with additional pics I took upon receipt that outlines the other flaws.
Trade value is slightly higher and I can add cash on a partial trade as necessary. Trade interests include:
Yamaha BBNE2
Fender Elite Jazz V
Lakland USA or Skyline
Sadowsky USA or Metro
EBMM SR5 HH / SR5 Classic / Cutlass / Caprice
Warwick Streamer / Corvette
Valenti Jazz
Bacchus Woodline
Fretless basses
Feel free to let me know what else you have that may be of interest. Thanks for looking.
