1994 Warwick Fortress One 5 / Aguilar OBP-3

This is an especially nice Fortress from Warwick's Golden Era.

Tiger Maple body with Wenge neck and fingerboard.
Neck is perfectly straight. Frets are level, well-dressed, near-zero wear. Truss rod is excellent. All original chrome hardware. Original Bartolini 59J pickups. Just-A-Nut.

Brand New Aguilar OBP-3 Preamp. Tons of Punch and Growl.
Controls: Volume(P/P-A/P), Balance, Stacked Bass/Treble, Midrange(P/P-Frequency Select).
Zero noise. Copper-clad pickup and control cavities with uninterrupted unity-ground throughout.

This is a really special bass. It has a distinct 3D sort of look. My wife says it looks like a Tiger's Eye stone but in black. Very few were made in this color. This bass is like a perfectly worn-in leather jacket. Looks amazing on stage. Plenty of light scuffing and two small scratches. The finish is not perfect but is commensurate with a vintage bass of 25 years. No chips or dings. Super well maintained. The Wenge neck is particularly chocolaty and the fingerboard is better than any they produce now. Back then, they were still using Select-grade Wenge. Feels awesome to play and sounds great. Great action; freshly set-up. The combination of Aguilar preamp with Bartolini pups is pretty great. It has a distinct and authoritative demeanor from rich and creamy to super phatass. Mid-range control with frequency selector allows for nice flexibility and some serious lush and punchy fatness.

-Warwick molded hard shell case in perfect condition.
-New Industrial 9V and New Warwick Micro-Polishing cloth included.
-Strung with Brand New DR Sunbeams (40-120)

Sorry. Seems like some of the pics got doubled up for some reason.

Killer! Any trade interests? I have a super sweet MM 40th anniversary Stingray 5 if you’re interested...I can send pics....
That sounds like a really great Bass but I'm pretty much need to sell only. The only trades I would consider are certain streamers. I thank you though

Looks like the nut has been swapped to a janIII, correct??
Yes. This particular bass came with a bone nut which was not adjustable and quite ugly. This version of the just a nut is my favorite. It is new. If you want the original, I can include it.
