I just picked up this stunning Status Graphite bass and got a fantastic deal on it, but my stubby fingers just prefer wider string spacing. It's in excellent condition with no issues and almost no signs of use at all.

Status Graphite Chris Wolstenholme (Muse) signature 5 string bass.
Alder body with woven graphite body shell.
Graphite neck through design with phenolic fingerboard & Dual action truss rod
Wrap-around Blue LED position markers.
Comes with original Status / Hiscox hard shell case.

Further specs from the Status website:
  • The bridge pickup has been moved away from the bridge by 20mm to make the tone warmer and right-hand string tension lower.
  • The neck pickup has also been moved towards the fingerboard by 10mm which makes the tone a little warmer.

  • Volume / pickup balance and bass / treble controls have been reversed when compared to a standard Status bass. This has no effect on the way the controls operate, it's just a personal preference Chris has.

  • A new midrange control has been fitted : this has individual controls for both mid frequency and mid cut / boost. This allows you to pin-point the exact midrange frequency then adjust exactly how much is to be boosted or cut. This midrange control can be pre-set and there is an on/off switch to by-pass it completely.

  • Black hardware.
  • Individual mono-rail bridge units are fitted as standard.

  • Regular 34" (864mm) scale with 24 frets.

  • String spacing is 18mm.
More info about this bass can be found on the Status website here:
Status Graphite. The finest hand-made graphite basses and guitars. Made in England.

Comes with Status/Hiscox Lite-Flite case.
$2350 shipped within the lower 48. No trades please.

Thanks

Please keep in mind that I only have a cheap bathroom scale & luggage scale, but I got 9.2 just now on the bathroom and 9.4 on the hanging one.

I can't guarantee the weight to the exact ounce, but I can easily say that aside from my old foam-cored Stealth II and an early foam-cored S2000, this is by far the lightest Status I've had.

Wow what a neat bass. I've never seen one of these before. Does it have a very "hi-fi" sound? I had a musicman with a Status Graphite neck and it had a very unique tone.

It's got a wide range of tones, especially with the variable midrange. My ears hear a Wal/Kubicki like tone from this bass, but still easily able to tame that with just a little EQ tweaking.
The custom pickup placement does warm things up and avoid things sounding "thin."

I was figuring it gets pretty versatile with the variable midrange. Man...I'm tempted. It looks badass. Need to find some quality sound clips.

Not a lot of them out there for this model without lots of effects, but this was a clean one I found.
