Details

Selling a cool Thunderbird body that was finished by Gildaxe in a distressed gold leaf over black. It's a very pricey finish to have done, way more than the cost of this finished body. Comes with both black (shown) and chrome bridge plates, and stock pickups and controls. Needs a neck, neckplate/ screws, and tuners to complete. C'mon...you know that you want to build a Fenderbird! A project I didn't get around to. I'll do $250 PayPal, shipped within the CONUS only, please.

Man, that is a lot of time and skill into that finish. What variety TBird is that from?

I believe it's an Epiphone Goth Thunderbird body, all stock. @JIO may know for sure.

Hi - yes John, that was one of the first gilded bodies I did when I started Gildaxe. It may have been a Goth, or it may have had a brown-burst (factory) finish - I can't recall. Any Epi T-bird bolt-on neck should fit and if making a Fenderbird, the neck-pocket would have to be routed larger to fit a wider healed Fender neck.

One day in the future, the new owner of this bass will own a vintage Gildaxe finish. Jio says that it's one of the first he did.

Is that finish protected with a clear coat? Will a fender/Warmoth neck drop in?

Yes, it's clear coated, but no, the neck pocket is not modified to fit a Fender style replacement neck. It's about 1/8" narrower.

Thank gods. If you had said yes on the neck, there would have been a $250 hole in my savings account. Thanks for the reply and GLwtS!

It has a poly clear coat. As mentioned above, to fit a Fender neck the pocket would need to be routed to fit. It is a stock Epi body and any Epi bolt-on T-bird neck should fit.

Opinionated blowhard. But not mad about it.

This is kind of haunting me. You mind taking a pic straight on from the front?
