Beautiful Red 63 AVRI Precision in great condition. It plays and sounds like the real deal with that famous P bass roar. It's a light relic with the flash checked finish with only a few tiny places that are touched up. The raw wood areas are part of the relic and were clear coated over during the build so it is not exposed. Weighs 9.1 lbs and comes with a mint cream colored hardshell case .

Oh wait, it a red '63 so technically not an AVRI - still sweet bass!

GAS attack! Someone buy this quickly please. I had one just like it and I miss it dearly, It’s the one that got away. I just can’t warrant another P bass for my collection, but it’s ooooh sooo tempting :crying::crying:

Just a minor technicality, but I believe Fender dropped the "Re-issue" moniker when they introduced the '63 and '58 - those are the "American Vintage" line, whereas the earlier '62s and 57's are true AVRIs. There are minor differences though both lines have a reputation for being excellent basses.

Didn’t know this ... however, the only apparent difference between an AVRI and an AV P bass should be in the pickup ... don’t know about electronics or fingerboard radius but they should be the same ... however, AFAIK, the AV ‘63, as you call it, has got a slightly better reputation than the AVRI ‘62 which many regard as a symptom of the constant improvement operated by Fender in recent years in the manufacturing process concerning vintage reproduction instruments.
Many put the AV ‘63 on the same level as of some of the far more expensive CS basses ... the one on sale here is certainly a notable example !

As I recall there were some other minor cosmetic differences: the AVs have less yellow neck tint, clay dots, and more authentic ashtrays - all stuff that doesn't matter, Oh, and different color choices. AVRIs were sunburst, white - black and fiesta red on early models. Both lines are highly regarded. Some would say the golden years for modern-day fender.

I’m still kicking this one around. Someone seriously needs to buy this so I don’t!

I am not the original owner of the bass so not sure it came with it but would be one that could.
