I bought this brand new pair of passive emg, thunderbird bass pickups for a project that didnt happen. They have not even been opened yet. I paid $200. So, save some money and buy these for $150. They are supposed to really improve the tone of the epiphone t-bird.

Anyone have a set of emg 35p and 35j pups. Id trade even up because, those would fit in my bass.

I have a set but I don’t have a bass that will fit the TBHZ anymore. Dang it.

Curiousity just got the better of me. I opened one of the pickups, made a connection to the jack, held the pickup in various places over the spector birds strings and plucked. They definitely are alot more open and bright than the ssd's. Thats even with the ssd's going through a creative labs redeemer circuit! I may be routering the spector to fit these pups.

I’ve heard them in a Schecter bass and love them. Spectors have a more modern tone I think. Just different
