I'm selling my 7/8 size Samuel Shen SB200 MAPLE. It's a fully carved flatback. Includes used mooradian gig bag.

The bass was built in 2004 and I purchased in early 2005. I'm the original owner. I'm looking to upgrade.
It has the normal belt scratches and slightly worn sides of a bass that's been used. Small chip on upper bout. - see pics.

It has been used in numerous regional orchestras.

The bass is in Northwest Arkansas. About 2 hours from Tulsa, 3.5 from Oklahoma City, 3.5 from Kansas City. My symphony friends are always surprised it's a Shen!

String length - 41 3/4"

this is a great deal folks.

I have a very similar bass. I would say for folks who are not too large, I'm 5' 8" and have absolutely no problem playing mine. Smaller basses don't carry the same authority that this type of bass does in the low register!

GLWTS, this is dirt cheap for what is secretly a rather high-grade instrument.

Is this a Gemunder? The Shen Gemunder is a 7/8 flat back. It was made with maple sides and back, now willow. I don’t know whether Shen made it back in 2004.

I just looked the Gemunder up online. It seems to fit the description. I never knew the model was anything other than ‘SB200’. Thanks for the info.

I own one but with the willow sides and back instead of maple. That's what got my interest. The maple seems to be more highly regarded from the comments I've seen posted elsewhere. Nice bass!

I'm selling my 7/8 size Samuel Shen SB200 MAPLE... The bass was built in 2004...

I owned the same model from the same time period, and I'll echo what @groooooove stated above: This is a whale of a bass. IMO, Shen was doing their finest work during this time. These instruments have a buttery response under the bow and produce a sweet tone that's also got plenty of power. It was one of the most satisfying-to-play basses I owned and was on par or better than a lot of the Pöllmanns I played in college; no exaggeration. GLWTS!
